Formulas are useful for when you need to add a very specific and complex equation that cannot be represented using normal textboxes. The builder allows you to enter in formulas using LaTeX, a powerful library specifically designed for making academic papers, equations and graphs.

This tool requires some outside knowledge of LaTeX to use. If you don’t have any experience with the language, the
LaTeX documentation is a good place to get started.

You can add a formula by clicking add formula in the add content dropdown menu.

After placing and sizing your formula on the page, click edit. This will bring up options for you to add a name, display name, and caption to the formula. The visibility of these items can later be toggled on or off similar to image captions.

Below these fields will be location where you to enter your LaTeX code, along with an accompanying preview bar.
