there are a variety of ways you can change and emphasize main and secondary text to make your content pop.
To edit a textbox, either double click it, or navigate to the ‘edit text’ option in the object toolbar. This will change the object toolbar to an active mode with two new buttons: The HTML button and the main text button.
Clicking the HTML button allows you to see the HTML code of your text (below). while it is not necessary to use this feature, it can give more control over your text, allowing for more complex stying. This can also be useful for debugging and fixing errors in your text.
The main text button allows you to see all the main text on a page. Remember, secondary text will not appear in this window. From this window you can also change access the main text’s HTML code by clicking the HTML button on the upper right hand corner.
Direct Text Editing
Highlighting text will bring up the inline styling menu with options that allow you to:
Select preset or custom character styles.
Change the color of your text
Bold or Italicize words or characters
Clear the style formatting of words or characters altogether. Keep in mind that this will revert the character style of the selected text back to the default ‘paragraph’ styling. If your custom characters have style applied inline, this change will be applied to the entire paragraph. You can learn more about creating your own custom styles and in-line styling here.
Add Super-Script or Sub-Script, which can be useful for mathematical equations or specialized characters.
Change the alignment of your text to the left, right, center, or no alignment. The default orientation is set to the left. Changing orientation can be useful to emphasize quotes, format descriptions, or add variation to your page.
Control the indentation size of a paragraph. This can be useful for establishing a hierarchy of ideas on your page, especially in bullet and numbered lists.
Create ordered and unordered lists. You can remove the list formatting by clicking the format list button.
The Builder also allows you to link to a variety of media within the text. Whether it’s an external link to another webpage or an internal link in your book, adding a link is as simple as highlighting the characters you want to act as your hyperlink, and linking to the destination. For an external link you can decide if it's opened in a new window or the current window. You can also set the title for this link to keep a clean, organized text.
When adding an internal link you will be guided to a directory of existing pages in your project. Here you can choose what page you want to navigate to. Internal pages default to opening in the current window.
You can also link a glossary term from the Builder’s library of glossary terms. This will reveal a popup description when a user clicks on this term. If you’d like to add a glossary item but don’t see it in the library, you can add your own. More information on that is covered in a video here.
If you want to remove a link, highlight the hyperlink and select the ‘remove link’ option.
The Builder also contains a glossary of specialized symbols that you can add by pressing the symbol button on the far right of the popup styling toolbar.
